Lambs Ear

If you have not figured it out yet, I'm a gardener and love to be out working in my yard. I spent much of the day tending to my flower gardens. We have had our share of rain and the vegetation is quite lush. I also like use what may be blooming at the time as my subject matter for my photography. The light was shinning just right on the lambs ear this evening.

Rubble

This evening I discovered a barn that I have photographed and previously used in my blog in rubble. It makes me sad to see things made of such quality and character are discarded.

I have not done much with night time photography. I rather like the results. The view is from Pewaukee Beach.

While dining with my family, al fresco, Pewaukee Lake served as a perfect back drop to our dinner. Lovely meal, magnificent clouds, belle vue.

Over the Rainbow

It's not every morning that I wake up and there is a beautiful rainbow over Pewaukee Lake. My husband woke me at 6:00 AM to tell me that there is a rainbow over the lake. I flew out of bed, grabbed my camera and did my best to photograph it. I had to be quick before it faded. What an amazing site to start my day!

Catalpa Bloom

The catalpa trees are known for their big, showy white flowers and slender bean pods. The white blooms start to open around Father's Day. I will be happy when they're done blooming as I'm highly allergic to the pollen of the flower.

Urban Fisherman

My neighbor Gary, my husband, and I went to check out the Hank Aaron trail that runs along the Menomonee River in the Silver City neighborhood. It is under development and plans to open in July. Gary is an avid fishermen and was scouting the area for fishing. He posed for me by the mural that is painted on the walls entering the trail.

Jackmanii Clematis

I was on my way home after shopping with my daughter. I was tried and noticed the blooming clematis vine growing on the side of someone's home and decided that is going to be my photo of day. Voila!

Ominous Clouds

The first day of summer blew in with tropical like weather. The wind quickly picked up and a wall cloud formed. I was able to capture the transition from the calm of a summer day to the turbulent churning of a summer storm.

Serenity

I pass this scene every morning on my way to work. I've been keeping my eye on it, looking and waiting for the day that I would stop to take a photograph. This morning just seemed right... the light, reflection, breeze, and clouds. All of these elements contributed to this peaceful scene.

Self Portrait

I'm long over due taking a self portrait. The moment was right this evening. The long shadow is reflective of me... As a photographer I'm often in the shadows looking for the perfect shot.

Beautiful Wild Ginger

The heart shaped leaves of the wild ginger are beautifully lit by the sun. The term for this is called "painters light". The light brings out the shape, pattern and texture of the leaves.

Anticipation

My work place had a Grand Opening of our newly remodeled kitchen and employee lounge today. Ice cream treats were provided by Rich's Ice Cream. You can see and feel the anticipation of the people waiting in line.

A Day in the Sun

What an amazing day, great weather, wonderful family, and a dinner fit for Father's Day. The sunshine was enjoyed by all, as evidenced in the smile of my daughter.

Corn Rows

There is beauty in all things. I like the symmetry, color, and order of this planted corn field. In a short time we'll all be enjoying this summer classic (corn on the cob).

White Peony

The peonies are beautiful this time of year. I decided to use a peony for the subject of my photo blog once again. A different color, a different cultivar. I found this beauty on my lunch break while out for a drive.

The fattest and most scrumptious of all flowers, a rare fusion of fluff and majesty, the peony is now coming into bloom.

Over Grown

I took a quick walk down to the lake this morning hoping to find a subject for my photo of the day. We had not cut the grass by the lake before we went on vacation. WOW, when we go back the area was overgrown. Hence the name "Over Grown".

A Day at the Beach

On our way home from South Carolina we took a detour and went to the Indiana Dunes Lakeshore National Park. It was a bit on the cool side, but never the less a beautiful day. There was an Amish family at the beach that seemed to think it was a lovely day as well. I photographed them as they strolled down the beach in hopes to use the photo for my blog.

Well Worn

During my visit with my sister and her family I noticed these boots on the front stoop of their home. The moment I saw them I knew they would have to be a subject for my photo blog. My nephew did not wear this pair of boots to work today (he has others) so, I was able to photograph them before leaving for home today.

Georgia Peaches

This morning we left Pace, FL to make our way to South Carolina. My nephew is graduating from high school, we are traveling there to celebrate his special day. We stopped for gas and I noticed a produce stand near the station. I walked over to the stand while my husband gassed up the car. There were just enough boxes of peaches to make this photo.

Tree Roots

My husband, niece and I went to Naval Live Oaks today in hopes to find sand dollars. The nature preserve is part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore. We left without sand dollars, but enjoyed the untouched beauty of the shoreline.

The Painter

A group of us went to Pensacola beach today. With it being Sunday, the traffic was heavy and it was slow going getting to the beach. We drove down to Fort Pickens to avoid the crowds. The Pensacola Beach corridor has the most beautiful white sand beaches. Once we reached our destination I grabbed my camera and took position to photograph this women painting.

Where in the World is Olivia

Pace High School had there commencement this evening at the Pensacola Bay Center. My niece was part of this ceremony. It was an honor to celebrate this very special day with her, family and friends. It was a large crowd. The graduates are in blue cap and gowns. It took me a while, I did find my niece in the crowd.
