When it came to form a New Year's Resolution this year, I decided to push my creativity and love of photography into a place where I could capture the innocence of human emotion and the beauty of natural environment. The purpose of this blog allows me a focus everyday whether it be, elegance, contrast, tranquility, or a hundred other qualities in what might be just an ordinary day. It should make for an extraordinary year.

The green goblin in the crystal ball is part of an elaborate display a co-worker of mine has put together for the last nine years for Halloween. Spooky!

Hanging Red Apple
The sun peaked out this afternoon, so I took a break from work in search of my photo of the day. I took a chance and pulled up the drive to Applewood Farms thinking that I would find a bushel basket of apples, instead I found apples still hanging from the trees. Perfectly Red!

Pumpkin Illumination
Halloween in Delafield... The Grand Pumpkin Illumination was Saturday night. Pumpkins will be lit each evening until November 2. The pumpkins were donated by Cozy Nook Farms and carved by local area school children. This is an annual event that I have taken my own children to. I returned to the scene for my photo of the day. Colorful!

Pumpkin Patch
We headed to Ebert's for their Fall Festival this afternoon hoping I'd be able to go out into their pumpkin patch to take a few photos. Well as luck has it, this is the last weekend the patch is open to the public and I was able to get my photo of the day.

The Art Scene
We stopped in to the Jackpot Gallery in Riverwest this evening for a gallery night featuring local artists. My son, Victor and his girlfriend Nellie hosted the event sponsored by Fun TV. I love the activity on the street, people coming and going, outside the gallery.

Abstract Sumac
We have a hillside covered in sumac. In fall, the fruit of the sumac form dense clusters of red berries and the leaves turn bright red. While taking the last shot of the day, I caught the most unusual colors in the background.

A break in the clouds, in an otherwise gloomy day, brought this beautiful sky for a short while. The building I work in stands proud against the blue backdrop.

While out strolling with my Grandson this morning I was lured in to photograph this vine growing on a privacy wall. It was meant to be viewed by others.

Organized Chaos
One of the guys who works in the press room calls this "organized chaos". That may be so, what attracted me to photograph this were the colorful bins aligned on the wall.

0-0-100-0
The dreary weather brought me into the press room today looking for a photo opportunity. A pressman had just inked his press and I caught the ink dripping from the scraper he had used. The color is brilliant.

Rose Mallow
I had to get in one more photo of a flower before the frost brings them all to an end for the season. This mallow looks fresh from the rain that we received today. Perfect to photograph.

Rushing Waters
I was in the Village of Menomonee Falls today training a newsletter customer. While I was there I discovered the Menomonee River ran through the Village. I stopped for a few minutes, climbed down the bank of the river, and took a few shots. This is the first time I have come close to creating this effect - smoothing out the flow of rushing water. Still have a ways to go, however, I like the results.

With the changing season we have had many foggy mornings. I have not grown tired of getting up early and getting out to photograph these foggy scenes. They have such peace and beauty to them. It keeps me coming back to capture that next foggy landscape.

Color in Motion
The wind and rain from the weekend brought down the leaves of this maple tree creating a colorful ground cover. I thought I'd get experimental with this photo creating a blur of color and motion.

Red Warty Thing
We drove out to Monches Farms today to take in their Autumn Open House. I picked this squash to photograph because I loved the name of it.... Red Warty Thing. It's similar to a hubbard squash, red in color and covered with bumps.

Tall Shadows
As the seasons change the sun sinks lower in the sky creating darker and longer shadows. Taken at one of my favorite places, I capture the fleeting summer warmth of sand and surf.
