Wheat Field

Traveled to Pace, FL today to celebrate my niece's graduation from High School tomorrow. Just before entering Florida we drove by this wheat field and knew that it was going to be my photo of the day. My husband stopped and pulled over to the side of the road so I could take my shots.

The Arch

I'm in St. Louis for business. On my free time we have been taking in as much of the city that we can. This great city icon had to be my photo of the day!

The Hill's Graffiti

We started out in Wisconsin this morning, drove through endless miles of farm land and arrived in St. Louis. We continued our adventure driving through the neighborhoods on "The Hill". Found the most interesting brick homes in this area.. Out of all the potential photo images that presented themselves today, I found the urban emotion found in this graffiti to be the most interesting. We climbed down a steep embankment adjacent to a railroad line for this shot.  Most of the roadway support piers were covered by competing artists.

Stormy Night Sky

A storm blowing in from the south brought me to my front door. I poked my head out to watched the lightening flashing in the clouds. I have not really done much with night photography, but decided to give it a try. I'm pleased with the results.

Memorial Day

Wisconsin Memorial Park remembered our fallen soldiers and honoring them by displaying flags throughout the grounds. It's truly a site to be had.

The Weekend

What would we do without the weekends to get all our jobs at home done? Today I caught my husband in action mowing the grass.

Farmers Market

Brookfield Farmers Market was bustling with people and man's best friend. Asparagus seemed to be the hot item, selling for over $4.00 a pound.

Sunset

Sunsets are cliche and often over used, however, the moment seemed right as I watched the sun go down. Peaceful.

Telephone

It's been a rainy day, had to go inside for my photo of the day. I've seen this phone at Mayfair Mall when I was shopping there recently. I thought it was unusual, do not see my public phone any more. I selected it to be my subject for my photo today.

Sunset

I've had my eye on this old building, waiting for the right time to photograph it. I caught the sunset reflecting in the window of the building this evening. Love it!

Pine Bud

I noticed these unusual buds on a pine tree on my way in to my Drs. office. When I came out of the office the wind was blowing, but I was able to capture this image despite the breeze.

Explosion of White

The white flowering crab apple tree we have in the yard is stellar this year.  I can not ever remember it having so may blooms. When you look at it, it's a mass of white.

Red Chevy

We were driving down HWY 31 north of Racine and noticed this red truck sitting along side the road. I hadn't taken my photo of the day yet, so we made a u-turn and came back to photograph it. The photo proved to be difficult because of the reflective surfaces. The chrome picked up the green of the trees. Oh well, I still like it.

Reflective

I spent my day at the Delta Center attending an Adobe Photoshop Workshop. It was a great day. Learned many new photo editing techniques and caught up with fellow photographers I hadn't seen in a while. As I left the building I had to stop, put every thing down, and take out my camera to capture this reflective image on the Milwaukee Federal Building facade. I used a few editing techniques that I learned today to enhance this photo.

It was a warm breeze day making it difficult to photograph outdoors. Caught a moment of calm to capture a magnolia that I've had my eye on.

Kevin

An unusual guest made an appearance at our Mother's Day get together. A cat named Kevin who's been hanging around for about a week bounded out of the woods to say hello. He was a friendly sort who occupied about and hour of our time trying to find his rightful home. His owner indicated we should let him go and that he will return on his own. He was a nice cat.

Burst of Beauty

I head out early in the morning so I'm able to capture my photo of the day before I go to work. I like the results of the early morning light, it provides even and soft light. The colors really pop.
Driving through my community, I have been noticing how beautiful the tulips are this year. Enjoy!

This past weekend my daughter drove out from the Milwaukee and mentioned how green it was west of the city. It gave me an idea for a photo... capturing the green of the grass.
